Mumbra saw another of its buildings collapse when the five-storeyed Banoo Apartments building came crashing down at 8 am on Saturday. One person was killed, one rescued and two remained trapped under the debris.

37-yr-old held for raping his 4-year-old neighbour
The Santa Cruz police on Saturday arrested a 37-year-old man for allegedly raping his four-year-old neighbour while her parents were away on Thursday night. Another incident of rape was also reported in the Ghatk-opar area where a 20-year-old man was arrested for raping a 17-year-old girl, his neighbour.
Don’t make sex determination a biz: HC
Stating that doctors shouldn’t make sex determination a “business”, the Bombay high court lambasted the lawyer of a doctor, who allegedly carried out sex determination when a woman had gone in for a regular pregnancy check-up. The court also dismissed the petition and reserved its order in the plea filed by the doctor, who had pleaded that the proceedings against her in a magistrate court be quashed.

Cidco to build railway stations
The City and Industrial Development Corporation (Cidco) has decided to build new railway stations in Navi Mumbai, including Bonkawade, which is the homeplace of guardian minister Ganesh Naik, and Digha. The issue was discussed at a meeting between chief minister Prithviraj Chavan and NCP chief Sharad Pawar on Friday at the Sahyadri guesthouse.
