37-yr-old held for raping his 4-year-old neighbour

The Santa Cruz police on Saturday arrested a 37-year-old man for allegedly raping his four-year-old neighbour while her parents were away on Thursday night. Another incident of rape was also reported in the Ghatk-opar area where a 20-year-old man was arrested for raping a 17-year-old girl, his neighbour.

In the incident at Santa Cruz, Sanjay Mohite (37), entered the slum house of the victim after realising her parents were away. “Her mother is a homemaker while the father does odd jobs. At around 10.45 pm on Thursday, he entered their residence, raped the girl and fled. Her mother returned and found her bleeding. The girl was then taken to the hospital where the doctors concluded it was a sexual assault and the family filed a complaint on Friday,” said an officer. The police then arrested Mohite.
At Ghatkopar, the teenage victim filed a complaint of rape when her boyfriend backed out of his promise of
marrying her. The police arrested Asif Ali Khan (20) and charged him with rape, kidnapping and cheating under the IPC.
