As the customers rushed inside, I quickly moved to the entrance of the supermarket to check if it was a robbery, but realised after 10 minutes that they were terrorists, as they were killing everyone who came in front of them.
‘Absence of officer led to escape’
The Navi Mumbai police has pointed to a few lapses in the security escort given to Afzal Usmani, who escaped from the sessions court on Friday afternoon. Police sources said the escort party failed to place an officer at the end of the queue that escorts the accused, which would have allowed the officer to monitor the movements.
