Court frames charges in child rape case
Paving way for the trial of two youth in the 5-year old girl’s rape in Gandhinagar, a city court on Thursday charged them for unnatural sex and rape. The court on its own charged Manoj Shah and Pradeep Kumar for raping and committing unnatural sex as these two sections were not invoked by the police in its chargesheet.
HC lets 3 foreign news agencies cover trial
The Delhi high court on Thursday permitted three international news agencies — Reuters, Associated Press (AP) and Agence France-Presse (AFP) — to cover the trial of the December 16 gangrape case. The court, however, did not allow independent foreign journalists to cover the court proceedings in the matter.

Cong leader’s brother shot dead
A 35-year-old man, reportedly the brother of Congress leader and former deputy mayor Razia Sultan, was shot dead by unknown assailants in Seelampur, northeast Delhi.
A police source said the deceased, Salim, was the main accused in a murder case and was currently out on bail.
