Japan national drugged, robbed
A 38-year-old Japan national was allegedly drugged and robbed of his belongings by unidentified persons at a restaurant in South Delhi.
A police official said the incident took place around 10 days ago. The victim, Hiroshi Izumoto, is an official in foreign consultancy.
“Two persons he met in Metro train befriended him and took him to a restaurant on the pretext of having coffee where they robbed him. We are checking the CCTV footage of Metro train and restaurant to get a clue about the accused,” said the police official.
“The victim also works for Kubota Corporation which purportedly advises Delhi Jal Board. The firm’s office is in Nehru Place. He was going to Sarojini Nagar from Rajiv Chowk and got off at INA Metro Station with the two accused who then took him to a restaurant for having coffee together. He fell unconscious after having coffee. The victim claimed that he woke up around two days later and found himself in the ICU of Max Hospital,” said the police source.
The police recorded his statement and lodged an FIR.
Meanwhile, the police arrested a man for allegedly a youth of `60,000 on the pretext of providing job in the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation. A senior police official said the accused has been identified as Amit Chauhan.
