BJP to protest against NCERT
The state BJP has demanded the withdrawal of history and social science textbooks prepared by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) for Central Board for Secondary Education (CBSE) following negligence towards the history of Maharashtra and its prominent personalities.

Actress arrested for possessing deerskin at her Andheri home
The state forest department on Friday arrested small-time actress and model Momita Pradeep Ghosh for allegedly harbouring deerskins when they raided her house following a tip-off. She was arrested and remanded to police custody for a day, following which she was sent to judicial custody.
Firefighting equipment for hostels lies waste
Firefighting equipment worth Rs 1.77 crore intended to be used in hostels for students belonging to reserved category is lying unused since it was procured in 2012. The social welfare and justice department, which is responsible for the hostels and had procured the equipment, has neither installed it nor trained hostel staff on how to use the equipment.

9 killed, 18 injured in road mishap
A luxury bus and another private vehicle collided head-on in Kasara on Saturday, killing nine persons, including four of a family and injuring 18 others. While the police has registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR), they are waiting for the victims to be identified, following which they will decide on whom to book for rash driving.
Rahul, Pawar to visit Vidarbha

Govt to withdraw Jaitapur protesters’ offences
The state government is seriously considering taking back criminal cases registered against locals who were protesting against the Jaitapur nuclear power project. A high-level committee will also be formed to take decisions on 25 demands that were presented before chief minister Prithviraj Chavan on Saturday.
