A city court has pulled up the Delhi police for shielding and not tracing owners of brothels running on the G.B. Road and directed the police commissioner to ensure action against those involved in human trafficking and prostitution racket. The direction came on the acquittal of a woman of charges of forcing girls into prostitution and abetting rape.

The Union home ministry has prepared a draft Cabinet note on the creation of a separate Telangana state. The Trinamul Congress on Sunday snubbed Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s overture and ruled out any possibility of an alliance with the Congress ahead of next year’s LS elections.
