What next? Several legal hurdles to cross

New Delhi, May 6: Despite the euphoria over a possible early hanging of Pakistani terrorist Ajmal Kasab, sentenced to death for the 26/11 attack, his execution might be a long-drawn process as the prosecuting agency is yet to cross several legal hurdles.

Mumbai, May 6: Ajmal Aamir Kasab, the lone 26/11 terrorist captured alive, was sentenced to death by a special court on Thursday. “Kasab shall be hanged by the neck till dead,” judge M.L. Tahiliyani said. The court sent him to the gallows on four counts — waging war against the nation, murder, conspiracy to commit murder and indulging in terrorist activities.

LeT to pay Rs 155cr?

Mumbai,  May 6: Special public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam wanted the special court at Arthur Road jail to give an order of recovery of compensation worth Rs 155 crores to the LeT for damages caused by the terrorist outfit to public and private property during the 26/11 terror attacks.
