Pineapple is an excellent source of manganese
Delicious, sweet, juicy and yellow, the pineapple satisfies my sweet craving after my food. What’s wonderful about this versatile fruit is that it can be combined with a variety of cuisines and with most food groups whether they be salads, vegetables, yogurt, sweets or meat/chicken preparations.
Honey is energy booster
Nature’s energy booster is a wonderfully rich, golden liquid that is a natural yet delicious alternative to white sugar. This miraculous creation, a product of honey bees, has over the last thousand years been considered one of the best home remedies in the world.
The king of fruits
The mango is truly a royal fruit. Apart from being a good looking fruit with a vibrant colour, once summer sets in you tend to forget all other fruits! I think, dream and eat only mangoes. And why not? They are extremely nutritious and even better, low in calories and zero in fat.
When raw is a better deal
As summer arrives it is important to put raw mango on your diet plan. There is always a reason for nature to give us seasonal fruits. In the scorching summer, raw mango taken in any form, is one of the best preventives for sun stroke. It’s high in vitamin C and keeps the summer cold and flu away. The raw mango increases your
Nature’s alternative to glucose
According to Ayurveda, “‘the wonder drink’ coconut water is unctuous and sweet, helps in increasing semen, promoting digestion and clearing the urinary track”. Tomato is zero fat and full of nutrients
People say that ‘an apple a day keeps the doctor away’ but I would substitute tomato for apple in this saying! A century ago the tomato was considered poisonous and acidic.
Watermelon is packed with antioxidants
Thirst quenching, sweet, cooling and delicious. Yes, that’s the watermelon for you. Come summer and many of us automatically crave for this fruit. The watermelon is packed with some of the most important antioxidants in nature and is an excellent source of vitamin A, notably through its concentration of beta-carotene. Pink
Have a bunch of nutrients
Grapes are a wonderful fruit. They are an amazingly healthy snack, easy to carry and munch on. You can add them to your mixed fruit salads as well as green salads.
Have you ever wondered what gives grapes their vibrant purple colour? They owe it to the presence of flavonoids in high concentrations, which are compounds that are extremely beneficial in reducing the risk of heart disease.
As cool as a cucumber
What better way to pamper yourself on a hot summer’s day than to lie on your bed with a facemask and two cucumbers over your eyes. Doesn’t it already sound so relaxing?
Berry low on calories
In winter comes a sweet red berry, my favourite fruit. I can’t wait for strawberries to come into season. I actually start counting the days and once they are available, I tend to eat a bowl of them every morning. Extremely low in calories, strawberries have a large number of health-giving properties as well.
Though you can eat strawberries by adding them into a number of foods, it is more beneficial if you eat them raw.
