The king of fruits
The mango is truly a royal fruit. Apart from being a good looking fruit with a vibrant colour, once summer sets in you tend to forget all other fruits! I think, dream and eat only mangoes. And why not? They are extremely nutritious and even better, low in calories and zero in fat.
This amazing fruit is quite rich in beta carotene and is very good for your hair and skin. It is also abundant in antioxidants that help strengthen your immune system.
Mangoes are a powerhouse of vitamins. They are rich in vitamin C and also contain good amounts of vitamin A and E. The fruit is high in fibre too, helping to prevent constipation.
Mangoes contain certain enzymes that aid in digestion and combat
acidity. They also have some compounds that have cancer preventing properties.
People suffering from anaemia and pregnant women greatly benefit from mangoes due to their high iron content.
Mangoes have been found to have some traditional uses as well. They are effective in treating nausea, fever and cough as well as sea sickness.
