Summer is here, and yes, that means its time to go chop chop with those lovely tresses. Of course, summer is not getting any colder this year, and so the hottest hairstyles to beat the heat are mid-length bobs or shags.
Though Indian teens prefer long hair, shorter hairstyles have become quite fashionable in recent years. Priyanka Chopra is one of the Indian actresses to have opted for the short, shoulder-grazing bob. And Deepika Padukone too upped her cool quotient with her choppy haircut in the movie Karthik Calling Karthik.
But it’s not just the filmstars who are going short-shorter-shortest this season, the trend continues among teenagers everywhere.
“Short hair is the best thing in summer; it allows me to look good without getting all hot and sweaty. Plus I don’t have to worry too much about keeping my hair in place. The ‘less is more’ look is perfect.” says Chandni Pradhan, a 17-year-old collegiate. And she’s not the only one. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself in the barber’s chair anytime soon.
Moksha Kumar thinks “Short hairstyles which frame the face are very in! You could do colourful streaks if it suits the look. And also, personally I think short straight hair up to the ears with bright blue streaks is hot and the same goes for burgundy streaks.”
Saryu Dalal rightly agrees that another hot trend is the rainbow-coloured hair streaks that you’ve been dying to sport. “I love my red highlights! They totally capture the mood of summer.”
