40-year-old homosexual’s murder case solved
The Mumbai crime branch has solved the murder of a 40-year-old man whose body was found with multiple injuries on his head in the Juhu Koliwada area on September 6. The police has arrested an autorickshaw driver in this connection. During interrogation, the accused claimed that the deceased was a homosexual and had sent “vulgar” messages to members of his family.
This infuriated the accused and he called the deceased person to a deserted place and killed him after attacking him with a beer bottle.
Unit-9 officials arrested Durgalal Nandlal Yadav on Thursday from opposite Indraprastha Mall, Borivali (west) following a tip-off. “Yadav confessed to his crime and is being handed over to the Santa Cruz police,” confirmed Sanjay Satardekar, senior inspector, Unit-9.
According to the police, on inspecting the spot where the body was found, they spotted a plastic bag with a wig and some female outfits.
“From these objects we suspected that the deceased could be a
cross-dresser. We made inquiries with some homosexual associations and a member identified the deceased as Sanjay alias Shivbachhan Vishwakarma alias Rupmati,” said Mr Satradekar.
“We obtained Sanjay’s cellphone number and after thoroughly analysing the phone call details zeroed in on one number. With the help of this number and informers we tracked Yadav and arrested him on Thursday,” added the officer.
