Ugly duckling syndrome
Everybody goes through that phase when life gets unmistakably characterised by the piling up of pounds, the skin breaks into awful acne, and the face gets framed by unflattering geeky glasses and awkward braces.
Teenage can be a tough time for many of us, but it is the swan that emerges that matters.
Contrary to popular belief, there are plenty of instances where celebs have had their bad hair days, fat phases and freckled faces when they were young, following which they have matured into gracious adults. The most recent example of this is the Ishaqzaade hottie Arjun Kapoor, who just seems to ooze oomph that has the ladies going crazy! A mere five years ago, he was three times his present size. In a recent interview, Arjun had said, “No child can remain happy when he watches his parents grow apart. I didn’t know what to do, so I started eating. I stuffed myself and watched TV because that was the only way of escaping.” He piled on the kilos, until one day he met Salman Khan. “I was completely under Salman bhai’s tutelage — from gruelling workouts to strict diets. As I was losing weight, I started feeling better because I was looking fitter. A leaner body and chiseled face gave me some confidence.”
Miss International 2012 Rochelle Rao believes that you cannot just attribute the ugly-duckling-turns-into-a-beautiful-swan syndrome to good genes or a tough workout. “I think it should be a mix of both,” she opines. “If we look at celebrity kids, it is natural that they would have good genes, because their parents look good. There are cases where most of them are not exposed to the public eye and they go abroad to pursue their education. Thanks to the international exposure, they are well groomed and better turned out when compared to your average school kid. When they return, all you have is a reference of what they looked like when they were way younger, and compared to that, they definitely look much better as adults,” she explains.
Beyonce, who is known for her bootylicious looks, insists that she was an ugly duckling during her growing years. “I was chubby and ugly as a teen, and sometimes it would take four family members to help me get my pants on and zip me up,” she reportedly told an American magazine.
So, it amounts to good genes and/or the will to slog it out to achieve a hot bod then? No, says Rochelle. “You have got to have an attitude to match.”

Film is good. Arjun Kapoor impresses but Parineeta walks with seetes. the film would have been more sucessful if tthe adult content is cut from the movie. ARjun kapoor is hereto say bas he needs the right push and further what to say about parineeta she is the next number one for sure (but minus kissing).
