Danish terror plot suspects to appear in court
Suspects held in Denmark in relation to a foiled attack on a newspaper that published caricatures of the Prophet Mohammed were set to appear in court Thursday, a spokeswoman for Danish intelligence said.
The suspects were to appear in court in Glostrup, Danish intelligence agency PET spokeswoman Trine Marie Ilsoee told AFP. She could not say how many of the suspects were due to appear before a judge.
"It will be up to the court to decide whether they will be remanded in custody," she said.
The intelligence service said Wednesday five suspects had been arrested and a sub-machine gun seized, preventing an imminent assault on the Copenhagen offices of the Jyllands-Posten daily.
Four men were arrested in Denmark while a fifth was arrested in Sweden.
Swedish media reported that a 37-year-old Swedish citizen was also due to appear in court Thursday.
