VHP calls off Jamshedpur bandh
The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) called off its proposed dawn-to-dusk Jamshedpur bandh on Friday to protest against two recent incidents in the city, after the district administration assured it to look into its demands.
The bandh was called to protest against ransacking of an amusement park here following a clash between two groups of people on Tuesday and brickbatting during a rally on August 10, VHP's Kolhan in-charge Suman Agarwal said earlier.
However, it was called off following following a meeting between East Singhbhum district police officials headed by Senior Superintendent of Police Akhilesh Kumar Jha and VHP and Bajrang Dal leaders late tonight, official sources said.
The police said they have arrested altogether 20 persons in connection with the amusement park incident on Tuesday when a mob ransacked an amusement park and beat up its employees injuring six persons.
One more person was arrested over brick-batting near district headquarter during a protest rally on August 10 taken out by the minority community in protest against incidents of Assam and Myanmmar.

With a population of 46 crores, which is 38% of total population of India and still the media call s them minority. This land ,for centuries has been dominated by a Hindu culture. We did not invite them (minority as you say), we were invaded by them/ their forefathers and now even after 66 years of their choice to stay with us, they dislike our religion, culture, our flag, our customs then they must make use of a choice that is also in our culture -- leave us for the land of your choice. They are not welcome here. This is not hatered, this will be a wise choice for them so that both of us live in peace without worrying what the other is doing.
I hae no faith in the current government, the current law and order administrators to stand up boldly
