Tainted K’taka MLAs face police probe
Three tainted BJP MLAs, who allegedly watched porn clippings on the floor of the legislative Assembly, will now face a police investigation. An additional chief metropolitan magistrate’s court on Monday directed the Vidhana Soudha police to conduct the investigation under section 156 (3) of the CrPC, which deals with obscenity, against MLAs Lakshman Savadi, C.C. Patil and Krishna Palemar.
Eighth ACMM Magistrate Kiran Kini took up a private complaint filed by an advocate on Monday and passed orders for the investigation the same day.
The private complaint, filed by advocate Dharmapal Gowda of Seshadripuram, has named all the three former ministers.
“The police swiftly raid and arrest women who work in dance bars, but have made no efforts to book the MLAs under the IT Act and IPC. These members have brought disrepute to the assembly,’’ the complainant stated.
