Sehgal’s eyes give vision to Babli, Ram Pyari
When Babli 16, and Ram Pyari, 60, open their eyes in two or three days from now, they will see the world with the same eyes.
Both of them have received a new lease of life and vision from the eyes donated by veteran freedom fighter Capt. Lakshmi Sehgal.
The cornea taken from the eyes of Capt. Sehgal, who died on Monday, was transplanted into the eyes of Babli and Ram Pyari on Tuesday evening by Dr Mehmood Rehmani.
Babli, 16, is a resident of Hardoi and had lost her eyesight a few years ago following a major eye infection that went untreated while Ram Pyari, who lives in Kanpur, lost her vision when an eye operation went wrong.
Ram Pyari’s son, Rajendra Gupta, told reporters that he was honoured by the fact that his mother’s had received eyes donated by Capt. Lakshmi Sehgal. “My mother is not yet aware of who Capt. Lakshmi Sehgal was but when we tell her, we are sure she will be overwhelmed as well,” he said.
Babli, meanwhile, said she had heard of Subhash Chandra Bose and also about Capt. Lakshmi Sehgal. “If it is true that I have received her eyes, then there is nothing more I could have asked for. It will be an honour to see the world through her eyes,” she said.
The eye transplantation programme, under which these two women received a new vision, is run by an NGO in Kanpur.
Meanwhile, noted filmmaker Muzaffar Ali and Shaad Ali are planning to make a film on the life of Capt. Lakshmi Sehgal.

Captain Lakshmi Sehgal served the country and even after her death, she'll be alive between us and seeing the world through two different person's eyes.
But, according to Human Organ Transplant Act (HOTA ) by Ministery of Health, Govt. of India, the Recipients information to be kept Confidential. Then how the concerned people revealed the information to media and world. This is a breach of HOTA
