Jayalalithaa throws legal counter-punch at foe Stalin
CM Jayalalithaa sued DMK treasurer M.K. Stalin Friday, accusing him of making “false and malicious” statements defaming her.
Public prosecutor M.L. Jagan filed a petition before the principal sessions court seeking punishment for Mr Stalin and Mr R.M.R. Ramesh, editor, printer and publisher of eveninger Tamil Murasu that carried Mr Stalin’s statement.
CM said Mr Stalin petitioned the additional DGP on December 2, 2011, alleging she had acquired properties in Kodanaadu and Siruthavur without paying the poor. He sought registration of a case against her for land-grabbing, extortion and intimidation. Mr Stalin also issued a press statement on this, which was carried by Tamil Murasu.
CM said his statement was “motivated” and his allegations that she was in illegal occupation of properties false.
