Cops nab convict, 2 aides who helped him flee

The special cell of the Delhi police arrested a convict sentenced to life who had escaped from police custody in Lucknow and also his two associates who helped him escape. A joint team of the special cell and the police conducted a raid and arrested the accused.
The accused persons have been identified as Saurabh Sharma, Himanshu Jaiswal and Pravesh Mishra.
The police said Saurabh was involved in a kidnapping case that took place in Delhi domestic airport area and was convicted for life imprisonment.
“On June 6, Saurabh Sharma was taken to Lucknow to produce him before a court. After attending the court, when the police team was escorting him to the Charbagh Railway Station, his two friends Pravesh Mishra and Himanshu Jaiswal offered lassi laced with sedatives to the policemen. The policemen fell unconscious and Saurabh Sharma escapes, said the police official.
The police got a tip-off that the accused were hiding in city and would visit Bhairon Mandir near ITPO to meet a contact.
Saurabh was arrested twice by the UP police. He came to Delhi and started working in American Express Bank at Gurgaon where he met Mukul Yadav and Sandeep Parmar.
They kidnapped one Raju Bhai Malvi and demanded `2 crores for his release.
Meanwhile, the police arrested two youth for allegedly snatching chains and hand-bags from morning walkers Sunil, 24, and Vinay, 28, were arrested from Punjabi Bagh around midnight by a patrolling party after a chase.

Cisf man returns bag with `2.5l cash to owner
New Delhi, July 5: A CISF jawan has come in for praise after he returned a lost bag containing `2.25 lakh cash to its rightful owner, who lost it at a Delhi Metro station.
The incident happened late Thursday evening when head constable M. Tirki noticed an unattended bag at the X-ray scanner of the Chawri Bazar Metro Station and he kept it safe for its owner to approach the authorities.
Delhi Metro authorities later handed over the bag to its owner, a resident of Gujaranwala town in the national capital.
In a separate case, two pick-pocketers were apprehended from the Nehru Place Metro Station by a CISF check squad. A stolen mobile phone, which could have been picked from a commuter, was recovered from them. — PTI
