Cong warns Jagan against rally
The Congress on Saturday finally made it clear to Mr Jaganmohan Reddy, the controversial MP from Kadappa, that his rebellion will no longer be tolerated. The warning came against the backdrop of Mr Jaganmohan Reddy’s plans to proceed with the second leg of his Odarpu Yatra from Andhra Pradesh’s Prakasam district on September 3. The admonition came from senior Congress leader and finance minister Pranab Mukherjee.
According to sources, Mr Jagmohan Reddy, the son of the late Andhra Pradesh CM Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy, had met Mr Mukherjee twice in the last one week during which he was cautioned against acting as a rebel. The last few days witnessed hectic activity in the national capital in connection with the participation of legislators in the yatra. Finally, it was left to the MPs and MLAs to decide their course of action by declaring that anything they do should ultimately strengthen the party. But now the party seems to have had a change of heart.
The Congress did not initiate any action against Mr Jaganmohan Reddy last time when he went on a yatra to console the families of those who lost their lives due to shock in the aftermath of Y.S. Rajasekar Reddy’s tragic death. He resorted to that yatra much against the wish of party president Sonia Gandhi after affirming that the yatra was a personal one. But this time the party seems to have put its foot down and categorically stated that party discipline is paramount. The party views the state of Andhra Pradesh as its bastion in the south; it returned a considerable number of MPs both in 2004 and 2009. According to sources, the Congress doesn’t want to create the impression that Mr Reddy can act with impunity against the wishes of the party, and hence the stern warning. The party believes that if it doesn’t rein in Mr Reddy, it might result in CM K. Rosaiah getting toppled. Mr Jaganmohan Reddy is set to resume his Odarpu Yatra on September 3 after addressing a rally in Tirupati on September 2, the first death anniversary of his father, YSR.

I dont think any thing wrong in resuming his ODARPU yatra, afterall it is his father's and his family members concern. Why should high command object for this? We in india never objected when our late Prime Minister Mrs Indra Gandhi and late Rajib Gadhi died and so many rallies were done for few months across the country.
