BJP, Left: Change no bills
The Civil Liability for Nuclear Damage Bill, 2010, has run into rough weather again with the BJP and the Left parties opposing any dilution of the liability of suppliers.
Both the BJP and the Left parties have apprehensions over an amendment which will make suppliers liable only if they cause an accident intentionally.
The amendment is completely different from the one agreed on in consultations of the parliamentary standing committee or in discussions between the BJP and the government.
