Polavaram: Delay costs AP state

There has been stiff competition between Soma and SEW. The bid process was mired in controversy following the allegation that the Chief Minister sided with SEW despite its technical shortcomings.

SEW held considerable stakes in Namaste Telangana, the newspaper owned by Mr C.L. Rajam, which is championing the cause of a Telangana statehood. The TD had accused TRS chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao, another partner in the newspaper, of compromising on the Telangana agitation after the government gave the Polavaram contract to SEW.

The CM, after much dilly-dallying cancelled the tenders and directed the irrigation department to call for fresh ones. The department this time took precautions to ensure that SEW overcomes the previous technical shortfalls.

But, the delay in cancelling the tenders and calling fresh ones took its toll on the exchequer. The project cost went up by Rs450 crore going by Soma's previous offer of Rs4,147 crore.

“There is some cost escalation because of the revised SSR rates,” a senior irrigation official acknowledged.

The escaltion of bid prices are justified as labour cost/cement cost/steel cost have gone up and the bid prices may go up to 1.5 times the earlier one .

The congress high command game is very clear now with some congress ministers coming out openly against tender. Congress high command led by sonia and rahul want to stop this tender by instigating its ministers to speak against the tender finalised by technical committee. LAst time high command forced rosayya and kiran kumar to get the tender cancelled and it is doing the same again inspite of loosing recent bypolls in AP.

TDP trying to scuttle the polavaram project from day one as it instigated chattishgarh to go to court on the issue

Time has come for the people/farmers to get organsied and force all the MLAs and MPS from region to withdraw support to both state government and central government and force mid term elections to teach a lesson to congress party which is the main force behind all this drama.

we will elect jagan in all assembly and parliament segments to teach this cheating congress which did not learn lesson inspite of clear cut verdict against it in by polls due to its anti polavarm stand
