Enlighten your life with moon series

Moon series brings you closer to the nature and makes you understand the reality of giving and receiving. The moon receives the light of the sun and shines through the night giving us love, light and serenity. And during the full moon days, you can witness the oceans, the lands and the skies coming together, dancing in unison to the beauty, peace and glory created by the nature.
Comprising 14 postures (asanas), the Kryoga Moon Series helps stretch and strengthen the legs, abdomen and back, and refreshes mind and body. The moon takes 14 stages to become a full moon. This series rejuvenates and revitalises all the 10 major systems of your body (the cardiovascular system, respiratory system, muscular system, nervous system, skeletal system, endocrine system, lymphatic system, reproductive system, excretory system and digestive system). The up and down movements help purify blood, improves elasticity in the skin, stretches muscles, makes joints supple and helps increase bone density. It also relieves pent-up stress, anxiety and depression.
First, begin by learning each pose perfectly and then combine all these poses together. Flow from one pose to another very softly, gently without any break in between poses, dancing to the splendid light and pleasant energy of moon.
Place a mat and begin the moon series by sitting at the back of the mat in Diamond pose. In this series, you begin from the back of the mat and move forward and after you finish performing the standing front bend (that you have in the series), you begin to move back and end with the sitting Diamond pose.

Diamond Pose Namaste (also called as a Japanese pose) — Bend your knees and sit on your heels with your toes touching each other. Keep your knees together and maintain the natural curve of the spine. Keep your hands together in prayer pose at your heart centre. Make sure you keep your shoulder down. Breathe normally and get your mind ready to flow from one pose to other. As you connect the postures and breathing, your whole being begins to radiate with peace, love and light. (note: those who have stiffness in the ankles or knees can first try placing a thick pillow under the buttocks, as if you are sitting on your heels with a pillow on your calf muscles).
Benefits: This pose helps relieve stiffness and pain the ankle, toes, knee and hips. It helps improve digestion and elimination. If you accidentally eat a heavy meal, then try to sit in this pose for two minutes, gently swinging front and back.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
