The Gujarat CID crime has chargesheeted nine cops including three IPS officials D.G. Vanjara and Vipul Agarwal of Gujarat cadre and Dinesh M.N. of Rajasthan cadre in Tulsi Prajapati fake encounter case. However, the state government’s CID has not named minister Amit Shah in the chargesheet. The CBI has arrested state minister for home Amit Shah in Sohrabuddin fake encounter case.

The CBI continued their interrogation of former Gujarat minister of state for home Amit Shah at the Sabarmati Central Jail for the second consecutive day here on Thursday. The proceedings are being video graphed as per the court directive.

Amidst much speculation, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) here on Wednesday commenced interrogation of former Gujarat minister Amit Shah in the Sohrabuddin Sheikh fake encounter case.

Fourteen policemen are languishing in Gujarat jail in connection with the Sohrabuddin Sheikh fake encounter case. Their loyalty to their home minister was unquestionable and some of them who have been in jail for three years still vouch for him. However, it’s a different story altogether for Amit Shah, Gujarat’s former minister of state for home.

The CBI’s voluminous chargesheet clearly pinpoints Gujarat minister of state for home entrusted the task of eliminating Sohrabuddin to his three trusted lieutenants, IPS officers, D.G. Vanzara, Rajkumar Pandiyan and Abhay Chudasama.

The CBI has summoned former Gujarat DGP P.C. Pandey for questioning in connection with the Sohrabuddin Sheikh fake encounter case.

Senior IPS officer Geetha Johri and former Gujarat DGP P.C. Pandey have been summoned by the CBI for questioning in the Sohrabuddin Sheikh fake encounter case, amid allegations that some police officers tried to influence the investigations.

In a shocking development that will tighten the noose over the Gujarat police, further exposing its obsession with encounters, it has emerged that Ishrat Jahan was kept in the same farmhouse where Sohrabuddin’s wife Kauser Bi was kept, assaulted and killed. The police officer who planned and executed both encounters was alleged “supercop” D.G. Vanzara, now in prison.

In a twist to the Sohrabuddin saga, eight police officers in jail for their involvement in the fake encounter case challenged the decision of police officer N.K. Amin to turn an approver in the case. Dr Amin has filed an application with the local court seeking permission to turn approver provided he is pardoned. The CBI is also okay with his turning into an approver.

In a day of legal developments, Gujarat’s former minister of state for home Amit Shah on Monday moved the special CBI court for bail, while the CBI sought and obtained permission to interrogate Mr Shah in Sabarmati Central Jail on July 28, 29 and 30 from 9 am to 5 pm. Mr Shah, meanwhile, sought and secured permission for his entire interrogation to be recorded on audio and videotape.
