Trade Fair: Barcode reader fails

Confusion prevailed at gate number three of the Pragati Maidan on Monday morning with even the employees of the India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO), which is organising the Trade Fair, failed to get entry. The bar code reader is also not functional which led the security personnel to check tickets manually.

MCD students to get glove money

The MCD plans to give cash assistance to the Class 1 to 3 students in its primary schools for buying woollens caps and gloves during the winter season. At least 5.5 lakh students are expected to be benefited.

Trade Fair opens, showcases India’s diversity

The 30th edition of the 14-day business and cultural extravaganza, the India International Trade Fair, got underway at Pragati Maidan here on Sunday promising a kaleidoscope of India’s diversity, coupled with a focus on business with the domestic and international stakeholders. The Union commerce minister Anand Sharma, who inaugurated the fair, also promised a world-class exhibition and convention centre. This time, 23 countries are participating as compared to 28 in 2009.

Govt to cancel 10,491 permits

Even as the transport department of the Delhi government has announced that it will cancel the permits of 10,491 autorickshaws as they have failed to get the smart card-based permit issued despite repeated reminders and extension of deadlines, the autorickshaw unions maintained on Sunday that they were unaware of any such order. They further alleged that the autorickshaw drivers, whose vehicles were not registered in their names, were not being issued the smart card-based permits.
