Meghna likes multi-tasking
Meghna Malik who was eliminated from Jhalak Dikhla Jaa (season six) started shooting for her new show Gustakh Dil from the next day itself. The actress who was last seen in the role of a saas in Na Aana Iss Des Lado is playing a mother-in-law again in this show, but she has no qualms about repeating herself. “It doesn’t matter whether you play a 20-year-old or a 55-year-old. The role needs to be a sizeable one. The character I play in this show is very different from what I did in Na Aana… and that’s what made me take it up. The conflict that this character faces is different from Ammaji. I like the set-up and my look in the show. We only started shooting a month ago, so I cannot reveal much about my character.
After playing Ammaji for a long time, Meghna took a break for about 10 months. “I went out of town and kept myself busy. Usually when I take a break, I visit my parents in Haryana. I also visit my school and college and interact with the students there. My sister, Nimansa Malik, is a journalist and we like to address women’s issues and inspire debates and discussions. She handles politics though and not showbiz,” Meghna says with a smile.
There were talks about Meghna being offered Bigg Boss. “Yes, I have been offered the show two times. But I don’t like to expose myself to that extent personally. I don’t follow the show regularly, but once in a while I manage to catch a glimpse,” the actress says.
