Third seed Roger Federer defeated Canada's Milos Raonic 6-7 (4/7), 6-2, 6-4 in the third round of the ATP/WTA BNP Paribas Open on Tuesday.

Federer advances to the fourth round where he will face Thomaz Bellucci of Brazil who progressed earlier on Tuesday after the withdrawl of Russian Nikolay Davydenko with a virus.
