Berdych, Stepanek to lead Czechs in Davis Cup final
Tomas Berdych and Radek Stepanek will lead the Czech Republic in the Davis Cup final against holders Spain in Prague on November 16-18, team captain Jaroslav Navratil said Tuesday.
Besides Berdych, the world number six, and 37th-ranked Stepanek, who is also ranked sixth in the doubles, Navratil named 84th-ranked Lukas Rosol and 187th-ranked Ivo Minar.
It is the same lineup that contested the semi-finals against Argentinia.
"There was no reason to change the team as they played excellent tennis in Argentina," Navratil said.
"Berdych and Stepanek were clear choices, Rosol is a substitute for singles and Minar has done a great job so he deserves to be on the team," he added.
The final will be played on a hardcourt in Prague's O2 Arena which has a capacity of 14,000 and was where the Czech women's team successfully defended he Fed Cup on Sunday against Serbia.
The Czechs will be out for revenge against Spain who beat them 5-0 in the 2009 Davis Cup final.
Spain's Davis Cup captain Alex Corretja said Monday he would also make no changes to his team comprising David Ferrer, Nicolas Almagro, Marcel Granollers and Marc Lopez.
Spain's number one Rafael Nadal is sidelined with an injured left knee.
