Australian Open: Kvitova into fourth round as Kirilenko retires

Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova reached the fourth round of the Australian Open on Saturday when opponent Maria Kirilenko of Russia retired injured at the beginning of the second set.

Kvitova was leading 6-0, 1-0 when Kirilenko, who hurt her thigh towards the end of the first set and needed medical treatement, decided to pull out.
