Improving upon their IXUS 200 series, Canon’s digital IXUS 210 boasts a 14.1 megapixel capacity along with a larger LCD screen (3.5 inch) and much better resolution. A compact camera, this is a stylish, though typical of the Digital IXUS series product— 24mm-equivalent lens with 5x zoom. However, the more vigorous touch user

interface coupled with on-screen tips, makes shooting, browsing and sharing images much easier. For instance, you can focus on the subject and even track it by simply tapping on it.
The Active Display feature also allows you to browse through your images by tapping the sides of the camera. Not only this, with its face detection technology, the device identifies up to 35 faces in a single frame. A range of new and creative shooting modes give multiple options to users, but there is some scope for improvement on this front. The camera does offer an HD movie mode allowing you to record videos at a 720p resolution. Overall, the IXUS 210 is a good buy but it comes with an equally good price tag. One wishes, Canon had not dropped the onscreen shutter release that appeared whenever the IXUS 200 was held vertically.
