Prasanna sizzles for Sathyabama

Prasanna of Sathyabama University scored 31 points as his team came from behind to defeat Jeppiaar College by a solo point in an enthralling final at the PBA inter-college tournament. Sathyabama prevailed 67-66.

Jeppiar started well and surprised their opponents with quick counter attacks. At half-time, Sathybama, on 21 points, were trailing Jeppiaar by 15 points. Prasanna did the star turn for Sathyabama doing the bulk of scoring which included six three-pointers.

In the dying minutes, Prasanna scored the winning basket to help his team nail the title. Shinumon gave Prasanna good support while garnering 10 points for the champions.

Kollywood film actor Arun Vijay was the chief guest and gave away the prizes. Earlier, the PBA Club felicitated Mathew Sathya Babu, who captained India at the Bangkok Asian games.

Meanwhile, St. Peter’s, Royapuram, and Vidyodaya beat MCTM and Lady Sivasamy respectively to win the boys’ and girls’ titles respectively.
