Mark Webber will start on pole for Sunday's German Grand Prix after posting the quickest time in qualifying here on Saturday.

The Australian Red Bull driver is joined on the front row by McLaren's Lewis Hamilton.

Webber's Red Bull teammate and defending champion Sebastian Vettel is on the second row after posting the third quickest time, the German joined by the Ferrari of Fernando Alonso.

Red Bull were on target to fill the front row as they had done a fortnight ago in the British Grand Prix at Silverstone until Hamilton muscled in with a flying last lap at the Nurburgring circuit.

This is the third time this season that Webber has out-qualified Vettel, the runaway leader of this year's championship.

Alonso's Ferrari teammate Felipe Massa is on the third row alongside Mercedes' driver Nico Rosberg with the second McLaren of Jenson Button and Force India's Adrian Sutil on the fourth row.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
