Bopanna, Qureshi halt Bryan brothers

New Delhi, Aug. 7: Rohan Bopanna and Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi pulled off their biggest win as a doubles team when they upset world record holders Mike and Bob Bryan in the quarterfinals of the Legg Mason Classic event in Washington, according to information received here on Saturday.

The unseeded Indo-Pak duo beat the second seeded American twins — who have a record 62 titles in their kitty — 7-6 (6), 7-5, to avenge last week’s defeat at the Farmers Classic tournament in Los Angeles.

“This victory is really satisfying on many levels. After the Bryan brothers beat us last week, this win shows that we were able to analyse what went wrong with our game and correct those faults to come back convincingly,” said Bopanna.
