Hussainsagar is the world’s biggest 'heart shaped lake'

There is one more reason to protect the historic Hussainsagar: It’s the ‘Love Lake of the World!’

A group from Hyderabad discovered that the Hussainsagar is the biggest 'heart shaped lake' in the world.

Ravindrajith, an independent film-maker by profession and secretary of Jeeva Care, a voluntary organisation, obtained a number of satellite pictures of the lake while trying to locate his house on Google Earth. In the process he discovered that Hussainsagar is distinctly shaped like a heart.

"I happened to see the aerial image of the lake and noticed that it is shaped like a heart. Since numerology is one of my hobbies, I tried to relate various aspects of the lake to numerology and discovered some interesting facts," says Mr Ravindrajith.

He found that number ‘6’ is an influencing factor according to Cheldean numerology and other popular numerologists. The number 6 is influenced by the planet Venus, and the goddess of love, hence the number is said to be influenced by love and attraction.

The lake covers an area of 1,500 acres, the water surface of the lake is 24 square km, it has a depth 60 feet, it is 510 metres above sea level and it is located at North 15’ and East 81’ and interestingly the numerological sum of all the figures are 6.

Even the names associated with the lake have a numerological influence of the number 6. Ibrahim Quli Qutub Sha who built the lake, and Hussain (Hazrat Hussain Shah Wali), supervisor of the construction, have a numerological value equal to 6.

Ravindrajith’s group has requested the state government, as well as the Centre, to send a recommendation to the UNWTO to announce Hussainsagar as ‘the love lake of the world’ on the occasion of World Tourism Day celebrations on Tuesday.
