Three victims of the Delhi high court blast have not yet got the ex-gratia announced by the Delhi government. The government is still unable to identify the kin of the deceased. The government officials said that the ex-gratia was immediately given to the next to kin of 12 deceased as all of them were direct dependants but in these three cases, the officials are not able to find direct dependants.
“In these three cases of deceased Nizamuddin (85), Pawan Bansal (62) and Darshan Lal Jain (81), the officials were not able to decide the direct dependants. There are three or more sons and even grandsons of the deceased who can claim the ex-gratia amount. To find the right dependant, the matter is sent to the law department and the reports will be out in couple of days,” said a senior government official.
The deceased Nizamuddin was from Meerut, UP, Pawan Bansal was from Gurgaon and Darshan Lal Jain was from Delhi.
Meanwhile, in the RML hospital, where eight victims of blast are being treated, a victim Rashid Ali, was shifted to general wards from ICU as he recovered from injuries. But another victim, Madan Mohan Sharma, was not so lucky and the doctors had to amputate his leg to save his life as the infection was growing furiously. Four of the victims are admitted in the recovery room and three are in the orthopedics department.
