India, after winning the toss, were bowled out for 165 by England in the lone Twenty20 international at Old Trafford here on Wednesday.
India made a blistering start and were 104 for one early in their innings, with opener Ajinkya Rahane making a fine 61 off just 39 balls on his Twenty20 international debut.
He received good support from veteran batsman Rahul Dravid, also playing his first Twenty20 international, who made 31 including three sixes in as many balls off left-arm spinner Samit Patel.
But once the second wicket duo were out, India's innings fell away and only middle-order batsman Suresh Raina (33) made another significant score.
England seamer Jade Dernbach led the fightback with four wickets for 22 runs including two in two balls to end India's innings with two balls to spare.
