‘Kareena is not my best friend’

Slowly and steadily Preity Zinta is staging her comeback in Bollywood. Besides having her hands full with debut production Ishkq In Paris, the actress is also upbeat about her television show where she will be chatting up with her industry friends. “Yes, I am back and this time there is a lot at stake,” she

giggles. “I have been away from the industry for so long, that I didn’t have any time to spend with my friends from the industry,” she says, citing that’s the reason why the show would be a great way to catch up with them.
For better or for worse, Preity says, that she has never had a BFF in the industry. “I’ve always been thick with the men I have worked with, but I can’t say the same about the girls,” she says. There was a time when a lot was written about her cold war with Kareena Kapoor. Probe her on that and a fearless Preity shoots back saying, “I’d still maintain that she is not my best friend. We are cordial with each other, but besides that there’s no equation.”
But why did she choose to disappear for so long in the first place? “The kind of films I was being offered during those days didn’t appeal to me. But I think the break has done wonders for me, and I’m all charged up for my second innings,” she says.
