UP Lokayukta N.K. Mehrotra has found UP minister Avadh Pal Singh Yadav guilty of corruption and has recommended stern action against him.
In his report sent to the chief minister on Tuesday, the Lokayukta has recommended the removal of Yadav from the council of ministers. The
Lokayukta had initiated the inquiry against Avadh Pal Singh Yadav after a Samajwadi Party leader, Subodh Yadav, who is the son of former SP MLA,
Ram Sewak Yadav, lodged a complaint against the minister. The minister had been charged with corruption by the complainant.
The minister, in his tenure, sanctioned the construction of 21 veterinary hospitals in his hometown Etah and concentration of such a large number
of hospitals in one district is said to be against the norms set for the government scheme. Construction contracts for these veterinary hospitals
were awarded to his son, Ramveer Singh Yadav, who works under the banner of the family company known as Choudhury Latoori Singh Construction
Company. The minister also misused his power to give the contract for Parag Milk filling pouches to his brother-in-law Jaiveer Singh’s company in
all major towns including Agra, Meerut, Allahabad, Ghaziabad, Noida, Saharanpur and Muzaffarnagar.
The minister also took the premises of his brother-in-law on a hefty rent to set up the office of Parag milk dairy in Mainpuri.
