A British woman, who had been facing charges of shoplifting, has emerged as the drunkest woman of the country for downing 28 pints of lager a day.
Dawn Marsden, 31, was accused of theft, but it seems she was under the influence when the court convicted her, as she later on had to ask reporters what her sentence was.
The jobless mother of one allegedly stole ten packs of bacon from a Co-op and later sold it for 1 pound each just to sustain her habit of drinking cheap lager all day long at her home in Teesside.
“You may have noticed my client has a drink problem. She will drink up to 16 litres a day. She has a long-standing appetite for alcohol,” the Sun quoted her solicitor John Relton as telling the town’s magistrates.
The court also heard that her two-year-old daughter was taken into foster care because of her boozing.
Her booze intake is a whopping 84 units in 24 hours, which is the recommended safe guideline for women for a month.
She even downs more than the drink-drive limit for every hour of the day.
