A chargesheet was served on senior police officer Rahul Sharma on Saturday, who had passed on, without government permission, information to the Nanavati-Mehta panel probing the 2002 Gujarat riots.
The Gujarat government had said on Friday that the Indian Police Services (IPS) officer Sharma was neither suspended nor any chargesheet was served on him.
