[1]DMK president M. Karunanidhi on Friday expressed “shock” over Congress president Sonia Gandhi taking ill and wished her a speedy recovery and early return to the country.
“I was shocked to know that Sonia Gandhi is unwell. I sincerely wish her a speedy recovery,” he said in a telegram to Gandhi’s political secretary Ahmed Patel.
Karunanidhi, whose party DMK is a key ally of Congress, wished Gandhi returned early and good health to continue “her excellent services to the nation.”
