While on the one hand the world is going gaga over the latest revolution in lingerie called the C-string, the only person in India who seems to have a clue about it is Rakhi Sawant. The motor mouth, recently, created a huge noise when she insisted that her producers for her upcoming television show, should get her the C-string and even refused to do the show unless she gets them. But now, it looks like Rakhi’s fashion quotient is higher than most of the fashionistas here.
When quizzed, several women, who are known for their style and boldness, emerged quite clueless about this startling discovery in lingerie. Says actress Pooja Bedi, “I don’t know what exactly is a C-string, however I feel that if a G-string can find favour in India, why can’t a C-string? And for all the talk of it being risqué, how does it even matter, because it’s not something meant to be seen by the world.” Acclaimed hair stylist Sapna Bhavnani along with fashion designer Pria Kataria Puri didn’t have the slightest idea about the product either.
Even designer Falguni of Falguni and Shane Peacock, needed some enlightenment. She said, “I don’t think such a product can pick up in India because we neither have the body nor the mindset. It’s too risqué even for fashion shows here.”
