The dissension continues to rock the regional Asom Gana Parishad, which on Thursday decided to retain Chandra Mohan Patowary as party president till the next convention of the party. The party has convened the meeting of its
executive committee members to discuss the situation arising out of resignation of the party president soon after of the debacle of the party in the Assembly elections. Though, declared agenda of the executive committee, which was attended by less than 100 members out of 211, was to discuss change of leadership, it ended on Wednesday evening simply by extending the term of the party president who himself had lost the elections. The meeting was held in absence of senior party leader like Brindawan Goswami.
