Given the cutthroat competition in Bollywood, every actor worth his name is striving hard to retain his position. And that’s exactly why most of our actors are so superstitious. In the past we’ve had actors wearing rings and performing pujas. But looks like all that is passé. Of late, a lot of top-notch actors have been seen sporting chunky jewellery like bracelets to ward off the evil eye. Initially it was just Salman Khan who flaunted his blue sapphire bracelet for over a decade.
Now following Salman is chocolate-boy-turned-hottie Shahid Kapoor. Recently, the actor has been spotted wearing a thin black bracelet on his left wrist on many occasions. Is it a superstition or a style statement? “Yes, Shahid is wearing a black bead bracelet. But it’s got nothing to do with superstition,” says Shahid’s confidante.
The buzz is that Kapoor received this bracelet from a fan on his 30th birthday. “After a couple of days he realised that it was working wonders for him. He appears calmer and more focussed . With Shahid it’s about the sentiment and not the value of a gift. Shahid is particular about wearing it everyday,” says the confidante. We really hope that the “lucky charm” bracelet manages to resurrect his turbulent love life.
