Describing former CPI(M) MP Anil Basu’s outrageous and obscene remarks about her as “unfortunate”, Trinamul Congress chief Mamata Banerjee on Sunday said that language exposes the identity and character of a person. She urged the voters to give the CPI(M) a fitting reply in the Assembly elections through ballots. “What a person is made of and is known for, is revealed by what kind of language he or she uses. It is unfortunate to hear the canards of the CPI(M) against me. The ruling party has been indulging in my character assassination because it is going to be ousted in the Assembly polls,” she said.”
She requested the voters to be calm and give their verdict in the polls in favour of paribartan (change). Advising them to stay away from any kind of provocation by the CPI(M), Ms Banerjee told the rally, “Even if the CPI(M) use filthy words which is their culture, against me, I will not do so. We will not follow them because such culture is not imported and practised by our party. So do not give an ear to them and cast your important votes carefully and peacefully in favour of the Trinamul Congress.”
