Forensic examination of documents with the CBI have revealed that some of the telecom companies involved in the 2G spectrum scam had allegedly forged documents pertaining to their board meetings in order to get Unified Access Service licences.
The forensic results also show that now jailed former telecom minister A. Raja also allegedly got some documents forged in order to match them up with the contents of press releases issued by him. The CBI will mention these findings also in its second chargesheet to be filed on Monday. The agency may mention the names of TN chief minister M. Karunanidhi’s daughter Kanimozhi, wife Dayalu Ammal and several others for allegedly getting benefits out of the allocation of 2G spectrum licences to certain telecom firms in its second chargesheet, sources said. Sources said, “Probe has established that certain documents related to transfer of shares from Swan to DB Realty in October 2007 were forged. The agency had also recorded statements of a top official of the Swan Telecom in this regard”.
“Probe has revealed that no board meeting of Giraffe Consultancy, associated with Shahid Balwa, took place on February 25, 2007. However, the CBI officials during its raids recovered minutes of the board meeting of Giraffe Consultancy which had taken place on February 25, 2007. The agency has ascertained the identity of the individual who prepared forged minutes of the board meeting. This will be mentioned in the second chargesheet”, sources said. The probe has also revealed that some of the companies forced certain individuals to sign blank transfer paper regarding the shares for which individuals were not made any payment, sources added.
The probe has also established that A. Raja and his associates allegedly forged certain documents and even press releases issued by the DoT to suit the needs of certain telecom companies, sources added. Forensic examination has revealed that certain words in the press releases, related to the cut-off dates for the UAS licences, were included later by A. Raja and his associates without taking approval from the concerned officials of the DoT, sources said adding these will be mentioned in the second chargesheet.
The chargesheet is likely to name at least five persons as an accused, including Asif Balwa (brother of Shahid Balwa) and Rajeev Aggrawal (director of Conwood Constructions and Developers, which is a partner of Dynamix Reality).
