Injured tuskers might be a cause for worry

There is no doubt the Tuskers are ripping apart IPL 4 dreams of many biggies, but even the so-called giant killers that they are, have few internal concerns.

The latest is that John Hastings boarded a Wednesday flight back home after sustaining a shoulder injury during practice with the Tuskers.

Earlier, New South Wales player Steven Smith, who was signed for $200,000 had returned after injuring his ankle during their Bangladesh tour this month.

The return of Hastings is perhaps the biggest blow to the orange brigade which though has a solid bowling attack, lacks the service of foreign speedsters, like most other IPL teams.

Both Hastings and Smith played for NSW, which is also the former club of KTK coach Geoff Lawson.
The two Aussie were in good shape during the three ODI Bangla tour and Smith was the only other recognised spinner in the Australian side other than left-arm orthodox bowler Xavier Doherty.

In between, there is news that five domestic players were allowed to go back home from the Tuskers’ camp. It is learnt that the five players will be called to action when needed.

The domestic players, who went sent home, temporarily, are Sushanth Marathe, Chandan Madan, Deepak Chougule, Tanmay Srivastava and Yashpal Singh. Sushanth and Chandan are wicket keeper batsmen, while Chougule, Tanmay and Yashpal are all-rounders available for the tuskers now.
