An intermediate student of St Pious College in Ramnagar was allegedly raped in the city on Sunday even as her blind mother was attending Sunday prayers in a church near Narayanaguda YMCA.
The girl, aged around 18, was then pushed out of a car as the culprits sped away. She was taken to the Government Maternity Hospital at Petlaburz, bleeding profusely.
Special teams of the police launched a hunt for three persons whose numbers figured in the girl’s cellphone. One of the numbers was of the dance teacher of the girl, who has been picked up. “We are waiting for blood reports to find out whether she was drugged,” said the police.
We are also trying to identify the other numbers,” said an investigating officer.
He said, “As of now it seems that the accused is only one person. It may not be a case of gangrape. But still our investigation is open to all angles.”
