For those who remember Vashu Bhagnani’s ardent plea to the makers of Game that they postpone the release of their film (so that nothing could mar the relaunch of his son Jackky in the campus caper F.A.L.T.U) this may come as a nice bit of irony. While F.A.L.T.U had a good start at the box office, Game is spluttering and how.
The makers of Game — Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani — are shocked at the poor reviews and collections that the film has garnered. A source close to the duo says, “Farhan and Ritesh spent a lot of money on Game. They shot the film across various countries and ensured that the audience would see something new in every frame. They believed completely in the script. Naturally, they are quite disturbed at the way the film has been massacred by the critics.”
Ritesh however, is nonchalant. “The paying public will watch whatever interests them and the word of mouth publicity has been pretty good. The film just needs some breathing space. Don’t kill it based on weekend collections,” he says.
Whatever Ritesh says, we’re sure Vashu is having a quiet laugh.
