The rift in Chhattisgarh unit of Congress has come out in open with former chief minister Ajit Jogi virtually accusing Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Ravindra Choubey of playing second fiddle to the ruling BJP in the state. “There is an impression in public that the Congress is functioning as a B-team of the BJP in Chhattisgarh,” the bureaucrat-turned-politician said in a letter to the CLP leader while taking strong exception to the latter’s “unilateral” decision to end boycott of state urban development minister Rajesh Mrunat in the Assembly by the party.

142 inmates to appear for UP boards

March 21: Nearly 142 prisoners from various UP jails are appearing for the high school and intermediate examinations being conducted by the UP Education Board.
According to sources, 77 prisoners will be taking the high school examination while 65 are appearing for the intermediate examinations this year at eight different centres.
The examination centres for these inmates are Ferozabad district jail, Ghaziabad district jail, Bareilly central jail, Model jail in Lucknow, Fatehgarh central jail, Banda district jail, Gorakhpur district jail and Varanasi central jail.
